We take toddelers into the Blossoming Butterflies room at the age of 12 months and they are with us until they turn 24 months old. This room is set-up to cater for the very specific needs of your baby.

Babies come into the world ready to learn. They are especially interested in other people and in communicating with them using eye contact, crying, and cooing. They are sociable and curious they explore their surrounding through relationships with others and through all their senses.

We work with the uniqueness of your baby incorporating into our routine their patterns for play, feeding and sleeping. We use these patterns as our guide to introduce daily activities. Regular, flexible routines help toddlers gain a sense of order in the world and to anticipate events. During this period, your infant will develop an understanding and awareness of themselves. They will learn that they have influence on and are influenced by others and learn that experiences can be shared.

The Environment:

In this room everything is floor based, you will notice that our black boards and white-boards are all floor height to enable those who are not yet walking ample opportunity to engage in all of the learning dimensions of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our furniture is also measured to fit the height of the children enabling correct posture and seating positions when engaged in more focused activities as they grow.

We will make this first transition away from home easy for you and your infant. Our settling in period is designed to suit your needs as well as those of your baby. We will support you by listening to your concerns and guide you through, what can be a time of great anxiety and guilt. Your child will have a designated key-worker who will communicate with you daily at pick-up and drop-off times, to share with you your babies day.
